Ingredients
Caramel:
– 3 gr granulated sugar
– 1tbsp water
Pudding:
– 500 ml liquid milk
– 3 eggs
– 50 gr granulated sugar
– 1/2 tsp vanilla powder
– 1 tsp custard powder

Cooking Instructions
1. Add sugar and water to a non-stick pan, heat it over low heat. Do not stir. Just shake the pan until the sugar turns brownish yellow.
2. Set aside caramel sauce in a separate bowl.
3. Mix sugar, eggs and custard powder. Mix until slightly foamy.
4. Heat liquid milk and vanilla powder to half boil. Pour it to the egg mixture. Mix until well blended.
5. Custard pudding must be cooked with au bain marie technique. Prepare a larger pan and fill it with water but don’t fill it up fully. Pour the pudding mixture into small molds, then arrange them in the large pan that was filled with water.
6. Bake at 160 C for about 1 hour.
7. After cooked, cool it down and then put inside the refrigerator for approximately 1 hour.
8. Remove the pudding from the mold. Place it on a plate and put the caramel sauce on it. Serve.

The Milk Short Story

Milk has been a staple food since 8000 BC. In the Middle East, fermented milk was first used by nomads to make cheese. Milk started being consumed in Indonesia in the 18th century, during Dutch colonialism, and its processed forms have become increasingly diverse, including cheese and yogurt.

Nearly 90 percent of the composition of milk is water. Milk contains magnesium, fat, and sodium. It is good for strengthening teeth as it has a high phosphorus and calcium content. Milk can also help relieve depression, thanks to the content of serotonin-producing vitamin D, which improves mood, appetite, and sleep quality.
